Following the May 2024 floding in Kenya, many roads, drifts and bridges were destroyed cutting the movement of people and goods. Talek River was no exception as it burst it banks leaving dozens of tourists and locals stranded in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. After the flood waters receded, Naboisho Conservancy teamed up with Jinda Construction (the builder) and Sensei Capital (the design engineers) to rebuild the drift crossing at Nkoilale on the Talek River. The drift was designed to be more resilient facilitate seamless movement of goods and people across the river. The project took a period of one month to execute.

We used modern construction techniques and high-quality materials to ensure that the road was durable and could withstand heavy traffic. We also paid close attention to safety, ensuring that proper drainage and road markings were installed. The road has greatly improved transportation in the region, reducing travel time and improving access to markets and essential services for local residents. We are proud to have contributed to the development of Western Kenya through this project.
